Spectacular Tiffini sure has a most unique look... which makes her a totally fascinating entertainer!
1) Can you share with us a bit about your background and any info about your ethnic heritage?
I was born in Toronto, Canada however I am of Trinidadian descent. I get the question as to "What am I?" all the time. If you really want to break it down to a science I am Half African Half West Indian and that's that.
2) When did you start to work as a model? Did you begin for more mainstream projects?
I've been modeling now for 5 years strong. I started out being recruited for Suicide Girls and from there I continued to break out on my own to blaze my own trail into the industry.
3) We’re very curious to know who are your favorite musicians/bands?
One of my favourite writers has to be John Robb who is also in the band Goldblade out of the UK. As far as bands go here is a list of what bands I listen to on a regular basis to add that fuel to my fire inside: -Ministry (Huge Al Jourgensen Fan) - Depeche Mode - Nine Inch Nails - Marilyn Manson - The Clash - Rob Zombie - Tricky - Puscifer - The Revolting Cocks - Underworld - The Dead Kennedy's - Cold - Placebo - Iggy Pop & The Stooges - Fear Factory -The Deftones ( I will digress before this whole interview becomes about what music I listen to).
4) Besides performing at events, are you very close to the fetish/BDSM scene? What are your views on this lifestyle?
Personally I don't consider myself close to any scene. I've always been able to get along well with different genres but I don't ever categorize myself into one. I like to transcend through all categories to create a genre completley different from any other. I love chains, metal, and pyro. That's my gig and I work every day toward making it into something so grand it's beyond belief.
5) Any more tattoo work in the future? What would you like to express more? And which one was your very first?
I draw all my own tattoo designs and that type of thing only happens when I am intensley inspired. So I really can never tell anyone my plans for future work. I won't know until I'm drawing out a design that represents another growth period in my life. That next day I'll be in the shop getting it done. That's the way I've always been with art and tattoos. My 1st tattoo was a small black fairy on my lower back at age 18. It has since been added onto and made into a very abstract piece on my back.
6) So how was it to pose with someone like Masuimi Max? :D
Groovy. I've done a number of sets for her site now. We do nice work together and I think we compliment each other well in photos.
7) How can someone decide at some point that grinding steel plates to her body is an instant hit as a live performance? LOL Seriously, can you describe this for us?
Steel is my saviour. The actual metal itself if fascinating to me. It represents everything I've ever stood for in life. It's hard and tough with a shiny exterior. However when you grind the steel will react to you in the most badass of fashions. I cannot explain the feeling I get from it with words. Using my body in this way has opened up my mind to a whole new world of opportunity. How did I decide it was going to be an instant hit? Have you not seen my show? Aha! Well, in all seriousness, with anything it takes time. I have a long way to go with Grinding. I want to take it to a whole new level of sparkling satisfaction. Everyday I get closer to that goal.
8) You made an entry on your blog about your sobriety anniversary… can you share your experience?
My blog at nubmiannightmare.blogspot.com is a place that I can share my photo shoots work, video work and personal thoughts on life & sobriety with the masses. I like to set aside time each Tuesday to write. This also marks my Sobriety Anniversary. So, I've started calling it "Sexy Sobriety" so there's an on-going theme there. It gives more meaning to everything I'm doing. It's gives insight into what it's like dealing with not only addiction but first and foremost life. I've been sober now for almost 3 months after quitting cold turkey and I look forward to these months turning into years. At that point I would love to see my blog garner a whole new online audience for people fighting addictions to have a place to come, relate, and hopefully continue to be entertained by my work in entertainment.
9) Should we expect an official website very soon?
Right now I'm seeing where it all takes me. I've always worked hard and now I'm sober to boot. So I wouldn't be surprised if a lot more gets accomplished this year.
10) What do prefer to do when it’s time to relax (IF you have time to relax!)?
I like to watch movies. I'm a huge movie buff. You also cannot beat a good documentary. I like to cook. You can never beat a good rock show either. So when I'm not posing pretty in front of a camera or grinding steel plates on my body that's what I like to do.
11) Correct us if we're wrong but… why isn’t there more women of color working as alternative models or fetish stars?
You're telling me! Well, that's a part of why I got into alternative modeling as well for the sheer reason that I did not see anyone that looked like me out there. So I decided to change that. I would love to see more ethnic individuals and less of the same.
12) So since you’re Canadian… there’s no reason for you to not come visit us in Montreal and do something with the other Fetish Cult Sirens, is there? ;)
I am always open to perform everywhere. It's always a matter of where I get booked. If you book me, I will come.
