Well, there's an element of danger here, isn't it? Rest assured that this beauty remains a very friendly and cooperative individual...!
1) Can you tell us when you became aware that alternative modeling was just for you?
I have always been completely intrigued and captivated by Alternative models and never in a million years would I have imagined becoming one myself. An old photographer friend of mine offered to take some photos of me and before I knew it, I was spotted on a social networking website. I then joined model networking and portfolio building sites and things just took off. I really enjoy getting into extraordinary clothes and different characters.
2) Were there (or are there still) performers –models that inspired you?
I'm gonna sound awfully predictable here but of course I admire the great Bettie Page. She raised the bar and set the standard for fetish models for years to come. Other inspiring models/performers are Dita von Tesse, Masuimi Max, Bianca Beauchamp, Viktoria, Anna Fur Laxis and Nina Kate.
3) Do you go through a cruel exercise routine at the gym to keep your hour-glass figure so perfect? ;)
Aww. How very sweet for you to say so! I eat really healthily, cook all my meals from scratch and drink plenty of water. I enjoy regular horse riding and walk everywhere possible but if I'm honest, should really allow myself more time to exercise. Chocolate, wine and comfy sofas are lethally tempting! It is important to look after your body just so long as you don't punish yourself and feel guilty for pleasures.
4) How did the name Tepidboo came about?
The name Tepidboo was a complete accident. Boo has always been my nick name my whole life and when asked my model name on the spot when I first started out, stuck my favourite word in front of it. To my luck, it was original and distinctive and people were able to remember me for my weird name if nothing else! Lol. I am the only thing that comes up when typed into a search engine. I am more commonly recognised by my Christian name, Juliette.
5) So… is there a big fetish community in Essex? Do you seek out going to fetish events and the like?
The Fetish community in Essex is quite understated but I have enjoyed attending the local run nights and events. Fortunately for us, London is right on our doorstep and with that Fetish central! There are endless opportunites for people to let out their inner dom! Lol
6) What kind of tattoo work do you plan for the near future?
I am actually booked in next week for some custome made designs on my feet! :D I will also continue to extend my manga piece on my left arm. I enjoy not knowing how it will turn out and having tattoos that are completely unique to my body.
7) What made you decide to be represented by Rogue Maidens?
I really like what Rogue Maidens stand for. Alternative to them means not falling into the stereotype. That beautiful women of different heights, weight, colour and background can have the opportunity to shine. Goth, punk, rockabilly, cyber, fetish, pinup. They have something to suit everyones style. :)
8) Always wearing all these sometimes strange or colourful costumes, how does this reflect on your personal life? Do you “play” a lot on your personal/intimate time?
I adore all the elaborate clothes I get to wear during shoots and everything I have worn has been re-worn on fun nights out! I have huge admiration for well tailored corsets and huge platform/fetish shoes! :D
9) What is the worst misconception that the general public still holds towards models, in your view?
Unfortunately I think the public conform to what models are supposed to look like and represent. When we think of models we automatically imagine high fashion, super tall and sometimes unhealthily thin women who provide unrealistic images and dreams to asspiring people the world over. Alternative models allow real people to be role models. It's more than tattoos, piercings and coloured hair. It's accepting and appreciating that beauty comes in different sizes, shapes and colours. That a model can be the curvy healthy women we see everyday.
10) Would you ever considered dying your hair blonde, for the sake of an outstanding project?
Good question! I would consider dying my hair for the right project, however I have to warn you, as a natural black I look terrible blonde! I speak from experience! Lol. I do like to be versatile and enjoy using wigs, falls and hair extentions to achieve different looks and personnas.
11) Are there things in popular culture right now (books, films, plays, etc.) that are getting your attention?
I love to read which has become one of my favourite past times whilst travelling, something I do on a weekly basis. I adore horror novels and supernatural thrillers. They provide great escapism and fantasy from the real world and thrive on the intensity and drama they bring me. My favourite author is Kelley Armstrong. Her books are highly addictive and I invite you to get lost in them. I also enjoy films and comedies, frequenting in at Burlesque shows and socializing at the monthly Goth club that I part run with my boyfriend in Southend on sea. It's called 'It's a Sin' and is dedicated to Goth, Industrial, EBM and alt dance and gives people the opportunity to get in their sexiest corsets, latex and killer heels and dance the night away!
12) Did you get the chance to travel to exotic places? Would Montreal be considered very mysterious to you? :D
Montreal sounds very inviting to me and if i am lucky enough to get the opportunity, will certainly come round and show my face ;)
