1) What can you share with us about your ethnic background? Are you actually a native of Ontario?
I am Chinese, but I was born and raised in Ontario, Canada.
2) So what decided you to become a model/performer? Any interesting memories from your first ever assignements?
The fetish scene, actually! I've been in and out of the fetish scene for years but have always found it thrilling, fascinating, and yes, sometimes confusing. Maxine X was actually one of the first people I worked with. I noticed her site when I was too young to be able to model for it, and have always admired her work and thought it would be a blast to work in porn. Years passed, and I met a friend in the adult webcam performing world, and I got into that.
Even more years passed, but my fascination with wanting to be in the modeling and adult video world didn't cease. I wanted to experience *really* being an exhibitionist, beyond webcam work and playing at the fetish parties, and I wanted to see if I could handle it. So I first did some lesbian fetish video work with my friend, then I contacted Maxine X. I was so nervous when I first modeled for my two video shoots with my friend, and with Maxine. But I also really enjoyed it because it was all so new to me, and we did things in the videos that I enjoyed, like bondage, forced orgasms, and humiliation. And just the thrill of knowing I was going to be seen by thousands of people later on was a constant high!
After just those two videos, I didn't really do much modeling for photography and video work and just stayed in webcam performing because it was comfortable. But I got bored of doing that all the time eventually, and in mid 2008, I delved into modeling for the first time really, full force. I didn't need to do webcam work anymore, and was taking on any photo and video work I could! I remember my first nude photo shoot, I was also really nervous. I forgot to bring a housecoat and walked out of the changing room stark naked and was stammering! The photographer was unfazed, and I've adopted the same attitude with time. I also remember my first "regular" adult video shoot, where it was a series of handjob clips. I met with a girl for a few minutes, then a guy walked in, and before we knew it, he was part of the scene, roleplaying and unzipping his pants, and we were giving him handjobs! I found the abruptness of the situation very amusing and exciting!
3) Do you prefer a photoshoot where you’ve been involved from the start regarding its theme, the fashion, the end result, etc. or do you prefer to completely improvise things on the spot?
Most of the time, since I usually take on paying assignments, I let the photographers decide what they would like to see, and I bring the appropriate wardrobe and attitude to the shoot. I'm very versatile and openminded, and can find enjoyment in many things. But I do also often provide input into what I think looks good. I generally like to get an idea of the theme and mood for a shoot, so I can bring the right wardrobe, but I like to improvise poses on the spot and do what comes naturally. I also like when the photographer gives me ideas on poses to do, because some poses that seem awkward and unattractive actually look smashing when I see the pictures later! Some people have a great eye.
4) Was it a well-thought choice for you in having breasts augmentations? Any advice for young women still hesitating to do so? And do you plan any new tattoo work on yourself in the near future?
Yes, it was a well thought out choice for me to have my breasts augumented. I don't regret it at all! I had my breast augumentation in February 2009. I have to admit, the adult industry did have an effect on my decision, but more in the sense that I've always admired women with enhanced breasts, ever since I was a young girl. As the years went by, I occasionally entertained the idea of me having breast implants. And finally in 2008, I decided to go for it. Take the risk, and do something that could make me really happy. I wanted to transform my exterior to fit my image of myself that I had inside of me, an edgy, deep Asian girl with tattoos and piercings and a curvy body! But also a person who is very balanced and in the sense of the modeling world, can fit many looks. And I've always been the kind of person to take risks and go after what I want. So I did my research and went for it. I was terrified, but excited, and was terribly insecure for the first few months after I got them done, but now I'm so happy I went for it!
My advice to young women hesitating to go for it: do it if you think it will really make you happy, and if it's for *yourself*. Don't do it for others because ultimately, you have to live with your own body. And of course, it won't solve all your problems. I still have my insecure days, but now just one less thing to worry about (and yes, new problems to worry about too). My surgery went well, but I was terrified it wouldn't, and yes, sometimes things fuck up. So you have to be prepared to take that risk. When I was seriously considering getting them done, I had lots of support (mostly people saying they are happy as long as I'm happy, but they thought I looked fine as is), and I'm so thankful for that! I'm really happy I went through with it, and even happier that I had support and that things went smoothly!
Yep, I definitely plan on more tattoo work! I love body modifications. I want to make my tribal sun into a half sleeve (add a background). Perhaps tribal air or water waves, to balance things out and symbolize balance. I also want a larger piece somewhere on my body, but not sure what yet. I would also like my Chinese name on me, and some Roman numerals, and some flowers (maybe roses or some kind of lillies).
5) What can you tell us about the marvelous Maxine X, another one of our cherished Siren? Do you have a lot of girlfriends on the fetish scene that you like to pose with?
Maxine X is one of the sweetest women I've ever met, and one of the first women I met in the adult/fetish industry. She and her husband made me feel instantly comfortable, and I am grateful that one of my first experiences in the industry was with them. They're so down to earth! And Maxine of course, is a real hottie too! I only have a handful of girlfriends in the industry because a lot of the work I do is more independent (i.e. just myself modeling for a photographer), and I've only been in the industry full time for a year, but am usually impressed by how down to earth most people I meet are. Most of the women I've met in the industry, I would pose with (if I haven't already!)... I love women!
6) On that same line of thought, did you ever felt any kind of "competition" between Asian fetish models? Is it a very close micro-community or, as in any levels of life, you can also find hypocrisy and disappointment alongside the comradship?
Yes, I think competition is inevitable, not only if a person fits a "niche" but generally speaking. Though it may be more apparent and prominent if someone fits a niche. In the past, I used to be a lot more competitive and would constantly compare myself to other models, and yes, especially Asian models and other Asian women. I still do compare myself, but I don't feel the negative feelings as much as I used to, because I try to remind myself of my strengths and things that make me unique from others. You see a lot of very attractive people in the fetish scene, and the adult industry, and over time you just realize to appreciate people for their individual uniqueness. The community can be close, and I find myself befriending some of the people I work with.
I have also had some bad experiences too, of course, with unprofessionalism, personality clashes, and misunderstandings. I think it is like with any other community, as you mentioned... some people you know on a casual level, some you don't want to work with anymore, some you love working with, and some who become great friends. But generally, I find that people care for each other in the community.
7) You seem to be able to squeeze into these tiny corsets with ease, besides wearing all those platform heels… do you have a strict program to keep in shape or is this just Nature blessing you in being so agile?
haha!! Some of those corsets *really* make your waist look tiny! I am generally considered slim/athletic, but I do "suck it in" for photos. ;) As for the shoes, practise... I go out to fetish parties in them and am used to it (but I used to fall down at parties at least once a night!). I am naturally slim with a curvy bum, but I try to work out as often as I can. Currently, my second home is the gym again! I go through my phases where I don't work out too. And I always try to watch what I eat, but I also splurge a lot too! So let's say I try my best, but ultimately, I'm glad I have genes on my side (for the time being!) I enjoy working out at the gym and find it relaxing. I like running and lifting weights, and sex is great too ;) I also love dancing at the clubs.
8) Do you have any other professionals interests besides anything concerning photography/video?
Yes, I am in school studying Psychology and aim to do counselling and therapy. One day, I think I want my own practice. I would also like to get into photography in the future and be the one behind the lens as well. I would also like to do more acting (a lot of my video work can be considered acting because it involves roleplay and sometimes scripts, and I've done some damsels in distress type shoots with scripts). I also enjoy writing and would like to write a semi autobiographical type story one day.
9) It’s unconceivable to us that you won’t do at some point some high-profile film work (as some sort of immortal Siren goddess, of course!)… Would you say that you’re more the sci-fi or the horror type?
haha :) I do want to see how far down I can go in this rabbit hole *grins*. I think I am more of the horror type, but I do enjoy Matrix type sci fi movies! Horror seems a bit more fetishy to me, but I'd enjoy acting in a sci fi type movie too! Intergalactic sex... mmm... :D I like trying out different things.
10) Since you look equally at ease being submissive or dominant in different images, can we ask if you’re a BDSM lifestyler? Do you "play" a lot in your private life?
*smiles* I do try to convey both sides of myself in my work! I am definitely a BDSM lifestyler because when I'm not playing, I find myself thinking about it. I rarely have "regular"/vanilla sex, and really do enjoy kinking things up :D But there is a time for vanilla sex too. I am very active in the fetish scene and enjoy attending the parties and munches (casual gatherings at bars), and love meeting cool people in the scene. Most of my friends are in the fetish scene. Yes, I do play a lot in my personal life ;) I go through my phases... sometimes I'm like an animal in heat, sometimes I'm more chill and need a lil break from sex and kink. Those breaks don't last long though, lol!
11) Tell us a bit about what do you expect from the upcoming FetishCon event in Tampa? You know that there’ll be tons of Sirens present?
Yes! I am looking forward to seeing all sorts of sexy people, and meeting some great people as well. I think it will be very busy with lots of models and photographers, lots of networking and partying, and doing some interesting shoots! This is my first year going :)
12) Of course, doing adult videos alongside Maxine X, Yumi-U, Orabella & others seem like a dream job at first… can you explain to us what is a typical day when it’s time to shoot one of these productions? And is there a long list of bloopers? ;)
It really depends on who I work with... sometimes I work with people that make me think... damn... I LOVE my job! And sometimes I get some, ahem, strange people to say the least! But a typical shoot would be, I meet up with the producer beforehand for a chat, then we usually drive to the location, do the paperwork/payment, and start shooting! Taking some breaks once in awhile and cracking some jokes in between ;) It's hard not to joke about the look of certain sex toys, certain sex acts or roleplay sometimes! Yes, there are bloopers, giggle fits, and random acts of... er... (tries to refrain from making a toilet joke), *grins*!
13) The sweet irony that your model name is Siren and that this site is Fetish Cult Sirens hasn’t escaped us… is there any chance that we could legally adopt you, in any way, just to honor that too cute symbolism? LOL
*grins* I really LOVE that my name is the same as the site name too ;) What a coincidence! My stage name actually used to be Jaden, and sometimes I go by names that producers choose to fit their scripts. I used to call myself Jaden Rose, but then it became Jaden Thorn, because all roses have thorns ;) And I like Nautica Thorn (she is so hot!! And she seems like a real sweetheart too). Then one day I chose Siren as my screenname for a BDSM networking site because I liked the vixen like, dangerous element to it... it fits a part of me... and the name just stuck... people started calling me Siren all the time.
