RoZE Harley brings us some very original and colorful photo themes... and outstanding makeup!
1) Can you share with us a bit about your background?
I am an ex art student and I did fashion, I make clothes and draw and do make-up too :D
2) What got you interested in alternative art? And also when did you get the desire to model for such themes?
Well I saw it as more interesting than just a jeans and t-shirt typical modelling themes, there's a wider variety and it's more challenging in its own ways. But art is a question mark, it's up to you how you see it and you can show it how you feel art is for you.
3) Now you must tell us all about your talent as a makeup artist: are you self-taught or did you follow specific courses?
I never really took any courses it was something that came naturally to me plus who wouldn't want to put beautiful colors on their face?
4) Can you tell us how you came to choose your model name?
Harlequin - Beauty can be a mask and a mask can be beautiful. Harlequin can be two colors and you can be whatever color you want. Roze - I thought the z was cool :D but i like roses alot :D
5) What are the advantages and disadvantages in being a petite model?
Well there's not much to it, advantages are you can fit into things like fridges and cabinets, etc. They say that it's alot easier to fit you to a frame and a photographer doesn't have to go far :D You can say the disadvantages are as a petite model that you can't get paid jobs as much and agency recruitments also there's a rarity you'll fit into designers clothing... but who cares??? The majority of the female population are not 5'10 or higher but why are we represented by these models?? Asians are short, always will be, but why are we represented by tall asian models when really we're all averaging 5' ft...
6) What is it about latex that makes all models go crazy wearing it?
Its one of the most interesting clothing you'll ever find, I personally admire the material (it's not easy to construct a garment out of it you know).
7) Are fetish events something that you like to take part of (or would like to take more part of)?
Maybe depends on how fetishyyy it is.
8) Is there comic book or manga character that you would like to portray?
Well I draw manga so I would like to bring my characters to life.
9) Is there a thin line between your modeling personality and your own private life? In other words, do you wear baggy sweatpants on your free time?
Everyone does let go every now and then but doesn't mean you've forgotten about who you are. For me there is a big gap, the world isn't as free as you think sometimes.
10) What kind of visual themes are you most interested in?
Everything out of the ordinary :D
11) What disappoints you more about the general public's perception of female alternative models?
I live in a world that people can become ashamed of you, a society who wants only to look acceptable (I do take a lot of beatings for being alternative). Just because we wear these clothes doesn't mean we are the people who are Satanist or anything like that. we are part human whatever we like right??? and we were supposeD to be seen as equals... Personally, humanity is the one who has put stigma on what alternative models are and you can only say that it's the incapability to open your eyes. But the funny thing is the stigma isn't just on the name 'alternative' it's everything that's connected to it it even go as far as materials. If a female wears a short dress in jersey she's seen as cheap, dress her in silk she has class, dress her on pvc then the closest definition someone will say is a prostitute. BUT ALWAYS REMEMBER: NORMAL IS IN YOU, IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE MEDIA OR MAGAZINES OR THE TELEVISION THE DESIGNERS OR SHOPS.
12) Would you ever be interested in coming to Canada and visiting us in Montreal to work with the Cult Sirens crew? :)
Canada is a fun place :D why not!!!
