Coming directly from Australia, here's the spectacular Trans Girl Fetish Model Nicci Tristan!
1) So what came first: a passion for fetish or a passion for dressing up in girls’ clothing?
Dressing up came first as it was a feeling that I was just born with! I struggled with it for many years basically burying the desire to explore my femme side! Eventually I succumbed to the fact that it was a part of me & started to dress regularly. Eventually I stumbled onto the fetish scene via a Sharon Sloane pencil skirt…let’s say it captured my imagination! & the rest is history; I now have a strong passion for the shiny arts!
2) Can you describe to us how the state of Australia’s fetish scene is?
Fragmented I would say best describes it. There are some really good events run at times & a few regular parties however it is lacking a major “must attend” yearly extravaganza, I guess a multi day event with all the right promotion. It will be interesting to see what develops over the next few years…
3) What was the most challenging outfit that you ever wore for an event or photo shoot?
Probably my white catsuit & snow leopard ensemble to last year's Rubber Ball! Everything marked so easily I had to be really careful the entire night that nothing came in contact that might leave big stains etc. Ended up with a few minor marks but basically it remained intact!
4) How was your personal life transformed after enjoying big success from your fetish activities?
Big Success might be stretching things a little, for a trans person it is much more difficult to penetrate the scene in a meaningful way. A lot of people tend to not understand us & shy away from any meaningful involvement (there are exceptions of course!). I’ve had photographers turn away after initially readying to take a photograph when they “read me” that I’m no a “real girl”, video guys doing the same. Don’t get me wrong there are a lot of friendly people at events & I meet some fantastic people, its just not many of the manufacturers or promoters are that interested or place much value on the trans part of the scene. Again there are exceptions & looks like this year in Montreal will prove that! :o) You might categorise me as a “minor success on the fringe” of the scene, I guess. Hopefully in the future as the trans part of the scene develops, I might be regarded as a pioneer of sorts! *Laugh*
5) What is basically the key factor for a successful makeup?
Practice, attention to detail & always striving to improve your look! Scouring the magazines & web for new ideas & influences is also important.
6) The question that everybody dreads… but there can only be one answer… here we go: red… or black?
Whilst I love my red, bronze, white & other colour latex outfits if I could only have one it would be Black! Latex is about shine & Black shines like no other!
7) Did you or do you still have any role models that serves as inspiration in your work?
My influences ? From all over the place without any single driving role model! However I admire Rubberdoll (ex florida), Zdenka, Eric Stanton styles, Satomi, & a host of others really! I'm a fan of the printed media (magazines) even though its a dying art form... so many influences in all those pages!
8) What can we expect from your visit at next September’s Fetish Weekend in Montreal? Have you been practicing your French?
Expect? I expect to have a photo shoot somewhere, a fantastic party & lots of fun!... um French?? Not really much call for that in Australia… France is 28 hrs away & Quebec is about 22 hrs… Lucky for me you guys like Aussie gals & can speak English!
