It didn't take long to be friends with stunning tattoo model Naomi... you see, she was somehow considering herself a Siren! So logical that our two worlds are joining up now, you never know what the future holds for a possible collaboration!
1) Can you share with us a bit about your background and any info about your ethnic heritage?
I am proud to say that I am half Puerto Rican and Trinidadian.Never met another mix like that before lol
2) When did you discover your interest in alternative photographer, and to become a model?
Since I was 13, however my dad was trying to get me into modeling at the time and he wasnt aware that his 13 year old baby had tattoos and piercings so it kind of made it difficult to get the jobs I wanted.
3) Were there any artists that inspired (or still do) in the field? Any other model?s career that you follow closely?
First person that inspired me was Sabrina Athena. I noticed her in Urban Ink mag and we had the same interest. Pretty much she's a tatted up vixen/business major and that really inspired me to dabble in both fields.
4) You must tell us all about your tattoos? what were the circumstance regarding your first one and what are your future ink plans? (and don?t forget your piercings!!!)
Most of my tattoos are Japanese tattoos though they aren't really traditional. My first tattoo was at 13 and it was these stupid cherries I picked off a wall because my mom didnt want to pay for this 200 Koi fish I wanted. But know the cherries are covered with a koi fish anyway so you can say I was destined to get that tattoo. I also have two tribal designs, one being tribal eyes which I got to signify this chain I have always wore with one green eye on it which are for Santa Lucia and I feel my chain and tattoo are my protection. Dont knock my beliefs =P haha...
I also have a Japanse whirlwind and lotus and cherry blossom design that took months to get it right since it was a cover up of some "artist" simulation of a japanese wave design. I also have my tongue pierced, navel, and a microdermal on my chest. And I will never tell my tattoo ideas to anyone because I had someone steal my ideas before and it sucks.
5) What contribution did your experiences in photography made you evolve as a person?
I was always very shy growing up, got picked on a lot for being slim but in the world of modeling being slim is a plus that I'm learning to take advantage of. Each day I get even more and more confident and my photos get better and better.
6) Is it very tough to be a young model in NYC? What can be the best way to stand out of the talent pool?
Sleep with a lot of people in the business! Honestly that would probably be the best way but I rather not sell my soul. You dont know how many times I've been asked "so what you gonna do for me if I get you this gig?" But so far I've been able to stand out just by being me and I'm so happy I haven,t been discouraged.
7) Would you be up to do some stuff involving bondage, or even wearing fetish fabrics like latex or rubber? Or is there a line that you won?t cross?
I never considered bondage but I do love latex clothing. I think it's futuristic and sexy. I don't mind putting some girls heel in my mouth for a great picture but as for videos I dont think I can cross that line but who knows.
8) Consequently, are you very close to the fetish community? Do you do to public events, parties, etc.?
I havent but always wanted to. My friends aren't into that type of scene but I am! So hopefully I can meet more models with my interest and we can party it up together.
9) Is there a thin line between your modeling personality and your own private life? Are there two Naomis out there? :D
I try to divide my model life and real life as much as possible. But sometimes I wish I can be Naomi the Siren all day every day. I love dressing sexy and having everyone look at me. Sounds cocky but it's a great feeling. When I'm not modeling and I'm going by my birth name life is dull, very dull. But I plan on being in this industry as along as I can so I plan to take advantage of those dull moments where I'm a regular person.
10) Do you prefer to go on photo shoots with precise themes well planned in advance or on some that are more on the improvisational style?
Both lol. I love precise themes because they have a character attached to it but when I improvise sometimes the pictures come out better.
11) What do you do when you're between assignments and just want to relax?
Watch movies, play xbox, and laugh with friends. That or I'm distracted by school or my day job.
12) We can't wait to do something with you! Will it ever be possible to work soon with the Cult Sirens crew?
Hell yea. I would love to travel and visit the crew it would be a great experience.
