She changes her hair color often... but the awesome talent remains the same!
1) Can you share with us a bit about your background?
I grew up in Leeds with my parents and two sisters and my cats. I've always had a love for all things glamorous and all things gothic. I've always been 'alternative' and part of the underground scene. I enjoy being creative and have always had an interest in make-up, dance, theatre, modelling, alternative fashion, alternative music and acting.
2) Did you begin as a model before being a MUA or is it the other way around?
I began as a make-up artist first.
3) When was it clear to you that you were attracted to more alternative themes?
haha Always! I do like some fashionable things but the alternative look and lifestyle appeals to me more.
4) Tell us about your work as a makeup artist… is it as much fun doing yourself over or applying your craft to others?
I love making people up for whatever reason, I am interested in all different types of makeup. I don't enjoy it quite so much on myself, sometimes I wish I didn't have to spend time doing make-up and could just get up and go! But on other people, I love it!
5) Do you change your hair color on a regular basis? What’s next for you? :D
I probably change my hair every three or four months. I'm dying it pink soon. :D I always go back to red quite often though because red is my favourite.
6) You’re quite a petite model… has this been an advantage for you? Do photographers often specify that they seek out less tall models?
It hasn't really been an advantage but it certainly hasn't been a disadvantage. Occasionally I have been paired up with a 6ft model for photo shoots but it can be possible to make that work!
7) What can you tell us about the modeling scene in Leeds, England?
I think the alternative modelling scene is pretty good. I have met a lot of great models and photographers. There is often fashion shows on around Leeds too.
8) What other artists/models were your inspirations when you started… and who inspires you most now?
Well I never really thought I'd have a chance at modelling so I didn't really have anyone to aspire to be like. Alsvarta Hati and Katie Fyrefly (who I met at a shoot I was doing the make-up for) were the ones who said I should give modelling a shot so I guess they were my inspiration to begin with. Other models I have always loved are Jessika Violet, Morgana, Miss Mosh, to name just a few! All these still inspire me plus more like Helene Atsuko and Miss Blitzkrieg. Oh gosh there's so many models I look up to actually!
9) Are you close to the fetish/BDSM community? What are your views about that scene?
I love the scene! I have been to and modelled at two fetish nights: Kinky in December 2009 and The Skin Two North Ball in 2010. They were both amazing, I absolutely loved it. I would love to explore other fetish clubs. Unfortunately lack of funds means I'm confined to the Leeds area.
10) Did you ever get to travel to Canada? How about coming working with us in Montreal in 2011?
I have not yet been (lack of funds again :P) But I would certainly consider it, yes.
