Our first distinguished guest from Finland! A very charming lady indeed!
1) Hello LouLou! Can you share with us some info about your background? Are you really a native of Finland?
Yes, I'm a native of Finland.
2) Do you remember the first ever professional performance that you did?
I just remember how happy I was. At that moment I knew this is for me and how much I love doing burlesque.
3) Have you ever heard of Bettie Page? You see, she was this model that… Oh, I’m kidding! What are your thoughts about the immortal Bettie?
Oh yes! I just simply LOVE Bettie Page. That might be the reason why I have a tattoo of her on my arm... :) For me she is the real thing. She has such an amazing body and a sweet personality that shows from her photos. It's very true what they say: she never seems to be naked on photos, even if she would be. There is something very pure and innocent about her and at the same time she is wild! Simply divine!
4) Would you estimate that there’s a big burlesque community in Finland? What about the fetish scene?
Indeed. We have a lot of organizers who run their own events and quite many performers that really put their heart on what they do. We have gone crazy about burlesque! :) We have also had a pleasure to have quite many burlesque stars from abroad, like Kitten DeVille, Dirty Martini and Satans Angel visiting us. The fetish scene is also quite big but not that visible.
5) What can an audience expect from a LouLou D’vil performance?
I love performing so I love to tease the audience a lot! :) I also love the classic burlesque so my outfits are very showy, I'm always groomed and most of my music is old big band classics or Las Vegas grind type of music. At the same time I'm soft as a kitten and as fierce as a leopard!
6) Are your dogs Milo and Nemo also Marilyn Monroe fans? :D
Oh yes they are :) But if they would have to pick between Marilyn and a sandwich, they would pick the latter... :)
7) As far as we could determine, your husband Ville looks like a rockabilly musician! Was music the thing that got you together, we wonder?
He's a really multi-talented and the most sweet person. He is a bass player (Bomfunk Mc's), Dj, producer and we do also burlesque events and tours together. So you could say that the music and performing has been and is our mutual thing and interest.
8) What can you tell us about the Tease Queens?
The Tease Queens rised to life in 2008. We all (me, Olivia Rouge and Cherrie A.Dorable) did solo numbers and then one day when we met, we decided to have a burlesque group. It was really an easy thing to do because we were in a same tone. Tease Queens is also influenced by the old time glamour, humour and friendship. It's all about having fun in a glamourous way! We all still do our solo numbers but are also part of The Tease Queens.
9) you go through a strict gym/diet routine or are you just one of the blessed who can stuff herself with anything and still look spectacular? :D
I'm the blessed one... :) I don't really go to the gym and I love food. My friends laugh at me because it seems like I'm eating all the time! I love to walk everywhere and occasionally I go to pilates lessons but that's all. I do waist training because I love the old times woman figure with hourglass shape. That means a lot of work; wearing a corset almost day and night. But at the same time I love it! :)
10) Any chance of you coming to Montreal one of these days? :D
I really hope so! I'm coming to California again on June to see my good friends. Montreal isn't that far away...? :D
