We told that story before: meeting Je C at FetishCon and making a bondage movie (get a glimpse here) along with Lexxi Brown. So far, nothing surprising. But everything clicked so well that we just knew that it was an Instant Siren Moment. She's absolutely remarkable (dare we say "adorable"?) and we're very proud to welcome her here!
1) Can you tell us a bit about your background, upbringing, etc.?
My parents are 30 years older than me, I am the youngest of two and the only girl. Raised in the country, I moved to Detroit and out of my parents home at 15. At 17, I graduated from high school and moved to Texas. Was married at 19 to a Texan and the navy. Divorced at 23, I moved back to Michigan twqo weeks before hurricane Katrina ate my Mississippi home. In 2006, I met a couple who introduced me to bondage and I haven't looked back.
2) Did you start out modeling in more traditional projects or did you began in more "less mainstream" work?
My first shoot was traditional; my first paid shoot was a stocking fetish.
3) So the Ultimate Question for this interview: How does one figures out in life that being tied up is definitively "it"?
lol, my first rope experience included a hood and in that dark space where nothing but instinct and trust matters, I felt safe and able to truly be me. Not giving up that feeling ever again!
4) Now when we asked you from where did you get your eyes, you replied “My daddy”. Is there many more members in your family who share this amazing color? :D
*smiles* it is a trait purposely honed on my paternal great grandmothers side... well it was. So she had them as well as my grandmother, who married a man with them. My father and his sister both got them but in the new generation they did not worry about marrying "light" so both of their choice for marriage were darker with brown eyes... so now we think only the boys pass it along. I got them from my father, none of his sisters kids have them but three of her grandkids from her sons have them, her granddaughter from her daughter does not. My brother and I have none to test this theory.
5) Do you judge that bondage photography has become a bit stale… or are there still innovators out there (names! names!)?
Bondage photography is not stale you just have to find what you like... The extreme with pain: Eric Cain, the extreme with beauty and percision: Lew Rubens, extreme with "death": Jim Hunter, extreme with beautiful women top and bottom plus fashion sense: JJ Plush.
6) Can you explain to us why, even within your field of expertise, when we met you we already wanted to hug you and felt that you were a Perfect Siren?
lol beneath my tough exterior I am a sweetheart... or try to be. And when I find naturally dominant people who are so without malice and a superiority complex... I have to give them some of my subby love.
7) We have to ask you if you have some sort of background in drama? Because when we worked with you, you improvised things to perfection and like it or not, this skill is something pretty helpful in this line of work, right?
I did a play in an independent film but truthfully, I am just dramatic. I love to feed into a scene, to let it grow and move forward in a logical matter, I think that's what makes for good watching, and I would hate to get a lifeless clip after hours of filming.
8) When someone new wants to hire you (even if it’s for $$$$), is there any kind of research that you do beforehand to determine if the vibes will shake the best way for everyone?
Yes I always look to see whom they have worked with and what the out come is... and then I like to write, text, talk whatever so there are no surprises or miscommunication. I follow the old saying there is nothing like an understanding, if you have never seen me do it before I probably won't do it with or for you.
9) What is your relationship with the BDSM community? Do you play a lot in your intimate life or is this all reserved only for photo work? (we kinda know the answer, but had to ask…)
My partner does not indulge but is super supportive, to that end I try to get out to local events as much as possible but save play for those I know very well as they no my personal situation. But with the opening of my own dungeon, I am sure everyone will see more of Him.
10) You had amazing chemistry with Siren Lexxi Brown… did you ever work before with a Black domme, by any chance?
I have never had the pleasure of working with a black Domme before and have only had a few times with black Doms... so it was very special to and for me... AND that damn accent, have mercy, she could order me around all day.
11) Can we be so bold as to ask if we can ever help out with an official website? ;)
I would love help, as I suck suck suck at that side of things... hence o site, lol.
12) Why do you think there’s not that many African-American models working in bondage projects?
African-Americans are very closed minded as to what should and should not be done. Americans are repressed sexually and African-Americans are repressed Americans... we have a lot of issues already and letting someone tie you up or chain you and "beat" you doesn't sit well with our history mentally.
13) OK so now the bed is made… the bottles of tequila are in the fridge… we just bought some new pairs of nylon… you ARE coming to visit us in Montreal as promised, aren’t you? (local photogs take note!) :D
Thanks to a disappointing September, it will not be happening right now , but we will find time soon after... and no fridge for tequilla, room temperature is perfect. and did someone say nylons????????????? ;-)
