Quite petite in size but still a big talent who's incredibly photogenic, we welcome Gypsy Rhodes to our pages, directly from the United Kingdom!
1) So how come a nice girl like you got involved in the "darker side" of things…? you ARE nice, aren’t you?... ;)
It was something that slowly grew over time... it started at about the age of 16 with a love of leather and pvc... it slowly grew from there as I came to experiment more, and extend on it into new areas, untill it developed into a fully fledged love of latex, pvc, bondage and all things fetish! I can be nice, but there is a time and a place for everything!
2) You mention that you don’t mind "gore" projects… do you have any Scream Queens actresses as favorites? And why does this theme appeals to you?
I am a big fan of the gorgeous Eliza Dushku, Fairuza Balk and Linda Blair. I just love the whole style. It stems from a love of horror movies, especially vampire films. Plus it's just such fun to get all messy!
3) We noticed that you are quite petite… do photographers often seek out models with smaller size?
It is not really a problem with my line of modeling. It would not work if i wanted to do fashion modeling where you have to be taller than i am, but for what I do it can work quite well. It can work well for fetish shoots, as it can give a look of vunderabilty when needed, but also present a pleasing image of being small but strong and dominant which can be very appealing to people into the whole submission thing!
4) Are you a frequent guest/visitor to many fetish events? Have you ever done a live performance or are planning to do so?
Unfortunately not, but that's mostly due to a lack of the fetish scene in the area in which I live. However, I have been invited to some great upcoming events that I would love to go to, so fingers crossed! I have also been in talks with an alternative clothing company about going to do live work at their promotion events.
5) What fellow artists are still an inspiration to you? Any current favorite models, photographers, etc?
There is of course the wonderful Bettie Page, but there are so many beautiful alternative models out there right now, I find inspiration all over the place. I love the work of Bob Carlos Clarke, his images are beautiful and full of sex appeal. There are also some amazing local photographers in my area.
6) So where does your model name Gypsy Rhodes come from?
It is actually derived form the name of one of my favourite songs! "Gypsy Roads" by the wonderful glam rock band Cinderella!
7) Where do you see your career going in about 10 years from now?
I am hoping to still be going with it, as in the alternative line of modeling there are really no boundaries, anything goes! Age, size, etc. are not really issues. I have some exciting projects coming up, and am hoping to keep taking my modeling to whole new places.
8) As a fan of rock’n’roll, can you claim that you’re a musician yourself?
Sadly not! I have tried to learn guitar on a few occasions, but I am sadly lacking in patience! But never say never, I would still love to learn properly one day!
9) Could you confirm that the best gift that can be offered to you would be… big high-heeled boots? :) (is this well understood, all you guys reading this?)
