Ok can we admit something? WE LOVE GOLDIE! She's exactly the kind of gal we'd love to work with in the future, and she's a joy to correspond with. The interview and the pics tell all:
1) Can you share with us a bit about your background and any info about your ethnic heritage?
On the census, I mark "Black". Everyone is mixed with something dated back through their ancestry. Race shouldn't define your beauty or personality.
2) What got you involved in modelling? Was it planned on your part?
It was definitely NOT planned. I did not see myself EVER doing this when I was 18. I had been experimenting with different hairstyles and cosmetics at the time, and while shopping up by Tacoma I was approached by a photographer. I research a lot of people and after confirming that he was legitimate, I decided to pursue this new opportunity. The rest is set in stone. ;)
3) As far as erotica goes, what could be the limit that you impose upon yourself?
I don't think I have limits but projects in this genre really depends on my impression of the company and the assignment.
4) What would you like people to learn from your modeling work? Is there some kind of impact you would appreciate leaving in the modeling industry?
I want to be one of the advocates of genuine beauty and I still believe it exists in the industry. I do not like to be labeled or limit myself by presenting myself as a certain "type" of model. The industry thrives off of trends and I notice a lot of models try too hard to follow the trends and they just come off fake to me. I want my work to say "I'm ME, I'm unable to be stereotyped." So far, I am happy with the results.
5) OK so as a Black model, do you sometimes feel that you're being offered the same kind of projects too often? How hard is it to try to do something different than the usual urban/hip-hop themes that we see so often?
The first thing I think about when someone says "urban model" I think of endless booty shots. As a black model it seems like there are a lot of limits as far as diversifying your portfolio but it all depends on the way you network. People are so used to the old ways they refuse to try something new. I want to try everything! The more people turn me down or think that I won't do well on a certain genre, I have to work even harder to prove them wrong. I want to break down walls and eliminate barriers.
6) Do you have much experience as a dancer?
Yes; as leisure and as a "professional". I used to be an exotic dancer, now you can find me on YouTube ;)
7) Can you describe to us the photo scene in Olympus, Washington?
I like that you call it "Olympus", that's too funny! Are you trying to say that I am a Goddess? ;) I've worked with some great photographers here, but the weather is definitely irritating. You are doing a lot of studio work throughout the year. I love being adventurous and being outdoors but the weather limits that a lot.
8) Besides modelling, you're a student also right? What kind of education are you pursuing?
Education, especially with the economy the way it is, is SO important. In the industry, beauty plays an integral role. But we know it won't last forever. Once your 15 minutes of fame are up then what do you have left to fall back on? I remember when kids had dreams of being doctors, teachers, lawyers; now it is all replaced by a fantasy thanks to the media. I am working on my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and then moving on to my Master's degree in Organizational Leadership. I definitely want something thrilling where I'm also able to protect and help others. I want to be a police officer in the South.
9) We can happily detect some fetish visuals on your port... is this something you're at ease with? Would you like to explore more by wearing traditional fetish fabrics (latex, rubber), for example? And how about these bondage pics, are comfortable are you with that?
When I first started modeling, I was so set on choosing a genre and excelling in it. Alternative, bondage, fetish, and etc. was what I wanted to base my career around specifically because there was not many well-known Black models. Anything weird, different, restrictive, and messy turns me on! I am such a freak at heart with an emphasis on attention-whoring ever since high school. I definitely will be exploring more of this genre and hope to be not just an icon but a voice of empowerment for those too afraid to venture out of the box to stand up and reach for new heights.
10) What's you favorite part of your body and do you think that your fans agree with your choice?
As a model, it's easy for your body to be objectified by people. I love every part of myself so it is hard to pick one favorite. I love it when someone comments on my nose or lips because it is so different from what I'm use to hearing (ASS ASS ASS ASS ASS lol). But my answer will have to be my BRAIN :)
11) When you can get out of all these elaborate costumes and finally wear sweatpants (!!!), what can you possibly do to relax?
I love naps! I don't sleep much at night and if my schedule allows it I catch naps like its going out of style! I love spending time with my family. I love my family so much, they all have contributed to who I am so immensely. I also love to draw and have since I was 4 or 5. Art has always fascinated me, especially thanks to growing up in a time with PHENOMENAL cartoons and anime! I am working on a few projects that I can't wait to reveal this spring! Stay tuned ;)
12) Would you ever be interested in coming to Canada and visiting us in Montreal to work with the Cult Sirens crew? :D
Of course! I've been to Canada once and loved it! Can't wait to come again, especially for a great reason such as that ;)
