1) Can you tell us when you discovered your passion for fetish fashion?
Well... I think I bought my first fetish shoes when I was about 14 years old and since then I'm wearing very high heels. I started going out in the BDSM and fetish scene seven years ago. Finally I found the place I could indulge myself in without being overdressed. I started wearing corsets, petticoats and PVC high-heeled boots. Little by little I thought of more accessories to add to my outfits and I ended up with a set formula, on which I vary all the time.
2) Did you follow specific studies (makeup, couture, etc.) at school or are you self-taught to create your various costumes and looks?
No, I didn't follow any course in this direction at all. I just create things by trial and error. I'm a self made woman so to say. As a child I was already drawing and painting a lot though. My mother was (and still is) an artist so there was always material available. Nowadays, besides being creative as a model, MUA and stylist, I also create mini top hats, Venetian masks and Steampunk stuff.
3) What can you remember from your first professional photo shoot? The path to success or a complete disaster?
My first photo shoot was with a friend; my first semi-professional photo shoot was with a photographer I met on the Internet. The atmosphere was very relaxed and the shoot went well. It was the beginning of a series of photo shoots with that same photographer. It was the path to success indeed. After a couple of months I was asked to model for the flyer of Dominatrix fetish party, here in Holland, and to model for fetish designer Brigitte More at the Fetish Evolution Weekend in Germany. In 2010 I ended up being one of the ten nominees for Miss Fetish Europe.
4) Would you like at some point to become photographer yourself?
Yes, that's one of my plans for the future. I've been interested in photography since I was 9 years old, when I got my first camera. Since then I'm mainly taking pictures of landscapes and animals, but I'm thinking of a concept in which I'm doing the make-up and styling, the photography and the editing. I already do a lot of editing; most photographers are OK with it if I do my own editing, so usually both the photographer and I are working on the pictures.
5) How would you describe the fetish scene in Holland? Are there many events? Is the population open to the scene?
I really like the Dutch fetish scene! The people are very relaxed and respectful; much more than in ordinary clubs. There are many excellent fetish parties in The Netherlands. My favorite party till now has been Siberia. But unfortunately that one has stopped. Also I really like Dominatrix, from the same producers, and parties like Fetish Cabaret and Boudoir Bizarre. I prefer the crowd at those small parties. There's an intimate atmosphere and it's less risky for a girl to be pestered by pushy men.
6) What disappoints you more about the general public's perception of female alternative models?
What disappoints me most is the fact that the public opinion seems to be that people who are into fetish and BDSM are freaks. I think that the media is mainly to blame for that. They are too eager for sensation and don't show the more sophisticated, beautiful and loving part of it. What also makes me sad is the fact that I cannot use my real name for my modeling work, because I have to keep in mind that my future employer might fire me if he finds out that I'm a fetish model. I wish I could live in a world where people wouldn't judge each other so harshly.
7) Are we right to deduce that you're a yoga and fitness enthusiast? Do you follow a special routine to be able to squeeze into all these tiny corsets?
Yes, that's right. I've been following a yoga teachers course. I'm not doing any waist training at all, although I'd really love to do that in the future. Unfortunately I'm too busy for that now, because I'm finishing a language Master at the university this year.
8) With all these colorful wigs, you must have a favorite color to wear, right? Now what can it be?
I've got one hundred wigs. I don't have a favorite color. I do have a favorite wig though: at the moment it's a it's pink-purplish with blue one and it has two long and curly pigtails. I'm still planning to do a photo shoot with it.
9) It seems impossible to not see you in a film someday, what could be, for you, the ideal part? We can't believe that Tim Burton didn't call you for his Alice in Wonderland!!!
Haha! Thanks! Yes, I'd like to be in a movie in the future. I've once been in a Dutch television soap as an extra and I liked it a lot. I was asked to do an audition for a horror movie a couple of months ago, but I couldn't make it because of my university Master. When I've finished it I'd like take some acting or singing classes.
10) Is there a thin line between your modeling personality and your own private life?
Yes and no. Yes, because I'm always busy planning new photo shoots, creating new looks, answering e-mails from fans, photographers and other people who are interested in working with me. No, because I try to keep things as separated as possible. Most of my study colleagues for example don't have a clue about my modeling work. I do have a kinky lifestyle though.
11) Do you have many hobbies outside of anything that has to do with photography? What do you enjoy more when it's time to relax?
Yes, besides yoga I'm also into ice speed skating, fitness, horseback riding and during summer I like to go to Switzerland for some hiking. I especially like to climb glaciers. Furthermore I like to read a lot: anything from books about yoga and other study material to Fantasy, Science-Fiction and literature.
12) So when can we expect to greet you right here in Montreal? :D
Maybe after I've finished my studies. I've always wanted to visit Canada. Not only for the mountains and the beautiful scenery, but especially to visit the Montreal Fetish Weekend, but unfortunately, due to my studies, at this moment I have no means to get there. If I get invited to do some photo shoots in Canada however I'll visit Montreal for sure.
