1) Hello Dahlia! Can you tell us more about your origins, ethnical background, etc.?
I was born in Argentina, my parents are Italians from the south we are Sicilian, yeah I know but no mafia roots here, just hard working people, mafia I wish! I grew up in the city of Buenos Aires my whole life, I never been out in the country side. I am a city girl, I moved here in 2000 first to New York and then in 2002 to Los Angeles, lived in Hollywood since then.
2) What do you find most seductive about vintage erotica and pinups?
I love the celebration of shape, curves, the woman's shape that we can find in vintage pictures or even cinema, it was very girlie in the 1940s, my favorite period, women were trying to be as happy and girlie as possible with their men at war an all that horrible stuff. So the 40s are a very feminine period, I just love it, and men were in a different situation back then too,they were providers and more old-fashioned then now.
Hey I love the women revolution that happened later on and the fact that we can work these days more equally but there's something very protective and romantic about men and women in the 40s and 50s,the roles were very defined and I find comfort on that sometimes.
3) So how one does discover that it’s actually really fun to be tied and photographed? :D
It is really fun!!!!! My first time was with producer Steven Villa from Girl Next Door Bondage,and I remember going to his house and his wife was there, she helped me chose outfits it was very comfortable. I love playing dress up and getting tied up and scream for help at the top of my lungs, itis very cathartic and fun.
Of course any girls that are thinking of doing this job should get references first from other models for sure, never go to a shoot alone or with no references. If you are safe, it's really fun, acting pretty much playing damsel in distress is awesome to me. I know some people probably don't get it but it's ok they dont have to. I see it as a very fun acting job but please girls you have to stay safe, get references!
4) Are there any other models right now that you claim to be a big fan of their work?
Well my main icon model role model was and is Bettie Page, I always loved her, she will live for ever in those pictures. Modern day models... I adore Dita Von Teese, Darenzia, Angela Ryan and Adrianne Anderson (more underground but still awesome models).
5) Oh! It’s kinky question time! Do you “play” a lot in your intimate time? Are you a practitioner of alternative sexual practices? Do you have a little dominant side to your personality?
No I'm not dominant at all, it's hard for me to tell people what to do, I am more of a damsel in distress in the bedroom. I think bondage is fun in your sex life but I am not a super freak, sorry to ruin the fantasy, but I do have a fetish for stockings, corsets and shoes, obsessions I can say for sure.
6) How did you get involved to produce your own smoking and fetish videos? And what can be your involvement (writing, filming, etc.)?
My ex boyfriend at the time told me how sexy I was when smoking, I used to smoke more than now, now i just smoke two cigarettes a day thats my limit. I am very good at keeping limits for myself, control freak much?ha ha ha. So he told me how he thought they were going to be people willing to pay to see me, I thought he was insane in the beggining so I started shooting with my web cam. The pictures were very blury and cheap looking but people liked it.
I tried cigars once and those clips were selling like crazy. After a month, I got a real camera, a good one and a tripod and I started shooting better clips. All the ideas and the concepts came from me and I also started taking off my shirt while I smoked, that was a success (I'm very comfortable topless so I never though of it as a wrong thing, smoking topless comes very naturally for me). So I did the videos, the editing work, choosing the music all of it and I opened a clips4sale store, which is very easy. Everybody can go and open one, it's free and you can explore your sexy side, it's fun!!!
7) Do you still have time to write poems? Have you ever been published somewhere?
I've kept a diary since I moved to America, I have tons of notebooks, some have tears and even blood on them... I had a very dark period a few years back and I was writing a lot. When I read those now, I find them good but disturbing, it's a sad thing that I had to be in major pain in order to write soemthing good. But I'm happy now, I'm at a better place so I cant really write cause I'm not suffering like I was a few years back
No i've never been published... hey I dont think they are that good!!! But hey like I said when I'm at a good place it's hard for me to write, I don't wanna sound dark but the truth is: it's very hard to write when you are happy.
8) So what do you like to do when it’s time to relax?
I'am a nerd, yes I am ha ha! I watch too many movies, it's hard for me to find something I haven't watched yet. So I do that... drink coffee, smoke virginia slims, I dont cook I actually hate cooking but I like cleaning and organizing the house I'm quite good at it too!
I don't lay in the sun or the beach, I prefer cloudy foggy days, it's better for a coffee drinker like me. I hang out with my girlfriends, we play dress up, put make-up on and take pictures. My friends are my family so I spend time with them as much as I can. What else? I think that's it these days, I don't have time to relax that often anyway.
9) About bondage shoots or clips… have you ever consider pushing the limits more and do some intricate shibari work, for example?
I would love to, I would love to work for Ropexpert in Chicago and Jim Weathers from bondage cafe here in L.A. I would love them to tie me up, I like their rope work, and Moraxian too, those people are in my wish list. I just have to loose some more weight and I'll be picture ready. I do enjoy pictures a bit more than video, I can pose tied up wearing garters and stockings all day. I love rope, I don't go crazy for tape that much... I prefer ball gags and rope, cute pink rope is the best!
10) Your modeling is on hiatus now because you have a child, right? Do you miss the spotlights and are you planning to make a big comeback eventually?
Oh boy boy boy, I can make the time even now that I have a baby, it's just that my body now is not in the shape I'd like it to be. I know there are more curvy, full or even plus size models out there but I wanna try for a few more months to get back to my size 6 and my 25 inches waist.
It's hard work really hard, I would love to take a few days to go East and visit my friends in New York and shoot some bondage, definitely gonna try this year to do it, but no it's not gonna be a BIG comeback ha ha I'm just a girl in stockings and rope he he.
11) Are you going to FetishCon this year?
I've never been to FetishCon and I dont think I can go this year. I'd rather plan a trip to the East, work and work there. I cant take the whole week off for FetishCon and I'm really not a big fan of going to Florida in the summer.
12) So eventually… can we count on you to visit us in Montreal? :
Oh my God for sure I would love to!!! I think we're planning in going to Canada sometime next year, I wanna do the Alaska cruise too and visit Canada in the same trip. If I have the time, I will take a boat from Seattle all the way up. I love being in the water, I hate planes, trains and cars... if I could live in a cruise I would he he but def would love to go visit next year!!!
