Coming out of Boston and with a very distinctive style, we welcome a very interesting femme fatale to the guest list!
1) Can you tell us a bit about your early background and first interest in all things fetish?
I was led down the path of fetish quite naturally by forces outside of myself, it seems. It has been a great ride. There has always been a sexual curiosity within me. Before I was even using the term fetish, I was intrigued by the great pleasure my current boyfriend of 10 years derived from my black sheer stockings. To see him get so excited from watching how they cling to the every contour of my legs and yet reveal the flesh underneath and to enjoy the silky feel simply amazed me. I learned what power my legs in silk stockings could have!
I have also always been fascinated by Victorian erotica: the constriction of the corset, passionate encounters on old fashioned trains and the like. I find that today a lot of fetish is too black and white (i.e. dominant and submissive) for my taste. I find myself drawn to a more subtle form of fetishism such as the underlying sexiness in the silk stockings, Victoriana, etc.
2) Do you have to “hide” your modeling activities from your family, co-workers, etc.? What is your degree of comfort sharing your projects with vanilla people?
Yes, to a degree. I hide my modeling activities from my direct family because I simply know that they would not see the artistic value in fetish photography. I am however quite comfortable sharing my projects/adventures with my vanilla friends. I find that a lot of them are receptive to and intrigued by this whole weird world of fetishism.
3) Is there any key fellow model(s) who remain a big attraction to you for inspiration?
YES. It all started with Dita Von Teese and the “Vintage Dita” book. To me, she is incomparably beautiful and elegant. I really felt a connection upon first viewing her photos. I found that she mirrored a lot of my own qualities and ideas and that really inspired me to start down the path of burlesque and later on fetish. I also find Angela Ryan incredibly attractive for the obvious reasons, but also her photographic work is so artistic. Of course, I must honor the one who started it all, the incredibly sexy Ms. Peel, Diana Rigg, from the cult 60s show The Avengers. Her cool beauty and sexy catsuits… need I say more.
4) Is there a big fetish scene in Boston right now?
The fetish scene is alive and thriving in Boston. There are some recurring events such as Sin-O-Matic at Machine nightclub and Jaded at the nightclub Gemstones. These events draw quality people who are really living the fetish lifestyle and are looking to meet like-minded people.
5) You are a performer at fetish events, aren’t you? What can we expect when we see La Belle dame sans Merci onstage?
What can you expect when you go to see La Belle Dame sans Merci perform… certainly a very intimate and personal experience, edgy props such as a gas mask, guns (a vintage tin water gun of course, silly), music choice: heavy, goth or industrial, and certain trademark aspects of my performances such as the leg on the chair and crawling on my hands and knees at some point on stage. I do not even plan it this way. Somehow these moves just make it into my show.
6) Of course, there will be this inevitable question: what decided you to adopt your intriguing model name? ;)
So, as you can see from my choice of inspirational models, I love the femme fatale image. That is what I aim to be in my stage persona, a deadly dangerous femme fatale in my powers of seduction. Of course, the name is also inspired by the original poem written by John Keats and the associations of the enchanted knight with the Lily (my favorite flower and the symbol of death) and with paleness, fading, and withering unto death.
7) You did a very sexy & interesting Xmas photo shoot… how did this one came about?
Yes, the Xmas photo shoot. That was a fun night! Well, that started out as a shoot to do a flyer for an upcoming fetish performance of mine. I had the opportunity to work with a gorgeous dom, Goddess Deanna. I was so overpowered by her beauty and powers of domination that I was quite naturally (without even thinking about it) on my hands and knees to do her bidding. And the resulting images were classic dom/sub and each model shining in her role.
8) Would you ever consider doing some BDSM photo projects? Some shibari stuff, for example? In other words, do you draw the line somewhere?
Yes, I am up for BDSM photo projects. Shibari is interesting for the fact that it ties up the bottom and for its visually intricate patterns. No, I do not draw the line “somewhere”. I simply do projects that interest me. I have even done full on nude photos.
9) Do you have big projects scheduled for 2010 or are you more taking things as they come your way?
I am definitely a “take things as they come my way” type of girl. That is the way I live my life. And I have been blessed with many photography and performance opportunities that way. I know that they are the right opportunities since they come to me.
10) What could be the best ever fetish-themed film that you’ve seen?
I really enjoyed the film Steve Diet Goedde: Living Through. I do not even know if I would call it a film. It is a showcase of his gorgeous fetish photography with ambient music accompanying the visuals. Watching it was a very erotic experience and a feast for the eyes.
11) Is there a thin line between your modeling personality and the real “daytime” you?
Yes, there is a very thin line between my modeling personality and the real “daytime” me. I dress seductively usually in vintage clothing complete with girdle, garters, and stockings and with acute attention to detail such as jewelry and accessories. That fetishy/sexy part of me is always simmering right below the surface. By the way, I am a secretary by day (a naughty secretary). When you meet me in person, you will find that I am a somewhat shy, sweet-natured person. I very much have that whole sexy librarian complex. I always wanted to be a librarian...
12) Did you get the chance to travel a lot for photo assignments? Howzabout we invite you to Montreal, one of these days? :D
No, in fact, most of the photo shoots I have done have been in and around the Boston area. I feel so blessed to have such quality photographers and clubs right in my own backyard. I would love to go to Montreal however and meet the other beautiful Cult Sirens models and king himself ;) ****
