A multi-talented artist, Belle M. Baudelaire is an absolutely gorgeous domme with a vivid imagination and tons of various fields of talent!
1) Can you share a bit some info about your background, upbringing, etc.?
I was born in California and lived there in Bel Air until 1985 when I moved to New York. Since then I've been going back and forth between LA and NY. I was always into the Goth lifestyle. When I got older I discovered the fetish world and immediately knew that world coupled with the goth world was for me. I began modeling. That lead to movie work in LA.
2) What prompted you to choose that career path and to specialize in out of the ordinary projects? What attracts you more to alternative themes?
I've always been attracted to the 'different'. I've always felt that I wasn't part of the herd and the way I dress and am attests to that.
3) You're also a painter, photographer, designer, burlesque performer...? Tell us a bit about when and why you developed all these wonderful skills.
I was always an artist. I have been painting and drawing and making clothing from a very early age. It seemed to be in my blood. When I moved to LA I discovered burlesque, in a way. I always loved the play 'Gypsy'. I've seen every incarnation of it on Broadway so I suppose I was always destined to be a burlesque performer.
4) How would you explain corset training to someone who has no clue as to what does this entails?
I corset trained for 12 years. I was modeling corsets and performing in them. I also wear my corset around the house when I'm just lounging. I had a child and that kind of set me back a bit in the corset training department, but it takes determination and will to wear a corset on a regular basis. I also enjoy it because I have a weak lower back so in a way it helps my back.
5) You mention going often back and forth between New York and L.A.; do you fell that there's a distinctive style of work & attitude between the two coasts, even for alternative photography?
I personally like LA more than NY. Most of my photo work was done in LA, but I do have to say that the photographers in New York that I worked with always were very unique and alternative minded. I just happen to be someone who likes LA better than New York. Sorry guys.. .;o)
6) What would you say is your main weakness towards clothing & accessories? Are you a shoe person or corset fanatic? And what is that thing about latex that drives any model wild?
I love to buy anything that is gothic Lolita or victorian. I buy clothing from Japan that is amazingly made. They have such an eye for detail and the clothing is so well made. It's beautiful on the outside and the inside. As for latex, I'm not sure I can explain why latex drives people wild. I like it because it's shiny and tight and gives your figure a lift. It always makes you look great.
7) How does your model work reflects in you personal life? Do you enjoy to play in private?
Yes, my husband and I do play in private. I won't spill all the beans but I will say that we enjoy water sports... ;o)
8) Did we really see you in pictures where you're happily pregnant? How did these come about?
I wanted to have a beautiful record of my pregnancy. I was happy while pregnant when my back wasn't killing me. But I have to say that my pregnancy produced the most beautiful boy in the world. My son's name is Ash and he is a bright light in this world.
9) Do you actually find time to relax? What are your favorite things to do when you're not on any assignments?
I make jewelry and water colour. I actually do a lot when I'm not traveling and doing modeling gigs. My jewelry line is called Voodoo Veritee, so names because I use Voodoo aesthetics to create my jewelry. Some of the jewelry actually comes with oil, powder or incense geared towards a theme, such as love or money.
10) So how come there's no official web site?
I have my Facebook page which works so well as an 'Official' page. I have close to 5000 friends on there and I also have my MySpace page, as well as my page on Model Mayhem. I'm also very easy to find all over the net, besides the sites I just mentioned.
11) Any chance of you coming to Montreal one of these days? You see, we have this ongoing female vampires storyline...
I would very much like to come to Montreal and check out the clubs up there. You guys into blood drinking up there? ;o)
