Anna Evans
We are very glad to welcome our first American guest, the multi-talented Anna Evans. And... she will be in Montreal for the 2009 Fetish Weekend!

1) The obvious question at first: what prompted you to pursue a career as a fetish model? Is there a precise event that led you to this path?

My interest in fetish in general started from my involvement with the goth community. I am an avid reader, and people I originally connected with over a mutual interest in VNV Nation and Skinny Puppy led me to writers such as the Marquis de Sade and Sacher-Masoch. I've long been a huge Anaïs Nin fan, as well. I would say that these three writers were most influential to me in my teenage years as I came to understand and interact with the fetish community.

I came to modeling really by accident: I was searching for new goth/fetish fashion sites (there's a lot of overlap in fashion between goth bars and fetish clubs), and stumbled upon some of the more popular modeling networking sites. I had wanted to attend FetishCon, so I contacted a local photographer and did some headshots, and started booking paid bondage shoots as soon as people realized I existed. I was really pleased and surprised at how quickly it all came together.

2) Which are there artists (models or photographers) that you particuliarly admire or can’t wait to work with?

This is such a tough question! I have been very fortunate to work with quite a few talented individuals, and I'm gearing up for my next tour of the US so I have a lot of exciting shoots scheduled as well.

I am always excited to work with friends and loved ones again. Some of my favorite photographers whom I shoot with constantly are Asylum, PXE, Corwin Prescott, and Vance.

PXE is both one of my favorite photographers and my favorite models to work with! I'm also looking forward to posing with Lauren WK, Nicotine, and Scar. While my hair is so bright, I'd love to get the chance to work with other similarly tressed ladies, I think the contrast is fun!

Photographers I'm really looking forward to working with for the first time include: Aeric Goujon, Kencredible, the Redrum Project, Renee Jacobs, Steve Goedde, and many, many more. Too many to list, really!

People I admire that I've yet to attempt scheduling with include Gilles Berquet, Ostanine, and Roberto Aguilar. I really need to get to Europe!

3) You feature photos of yourself handling strawberries in a very interesting way… so we are curious to ask you with is your personal definition of "fetish"?

Personally, I feel that a fetish is something that you cannot have successful sexual intercourse without. There are, in my opinion, very few true fetishes in the world, but many people who like to toss the word around.

I have a serious thing for shoes, and definitely have better orgasms when I'm wearing really fabulous fetish heels, but since I can still have sex with naked feet I wouldn't consider myself a fetishist. More of an aficionado.

4) Have you ever perceived any difference between male and female fetish photographers in the manner that they deal with their work?

Men and women deal with everything differently! But I've noticed mainly that every photographer handles his or her work differently, they all have wildly different working styles.

5) Is there a line that you won’t cross for the sake of "artistic expression"?

Not really. My life is performance art, I don't believe in holding back. I won't do all things for all artists, though! I'm really looking forward to launching a paysite to explore my own more erotic art, since it'll allow me to collaborate with a new type of artist.

6) We understand that there’s a big chance that you will be present at the 2009 Montreal Fetish Weekend. Have you attended a lot of these gatherings and what for you is the qualities of success for such an event?

Yes, I'm really looking forward to it! I have attended the past two FetishCons in Tampa, and I've done runway at the last San Francisco Fetish Ball. I have been modeling for less than two years, total, so I haven't attended many of these events yet, but it seems to me that a really successful event has an enthusiastic, involved crowd, dazzling performers, and interesting merchandise in the vendor area.

7) Do you have any other big plans for 2009?

Of course! This year, I'm planning to travel to Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, LA, Tampa, Philadelphia, NYC, Toronto, and of course Montreal. I'm also launching a Clips4Sale store and a paysite, and collaborating on performance pieces with PXE!

8) Lastly, can we add that it was a real pleasure corresponding with you? :)

Absolutely, I've really enjoyed it as well!
